Hope Springs & Green Card + Mumford - Triple Feature
Green Card – Starring Gerard Depardieu , 1991 Golden Globe Best Actor (Academy Award nominee – Cyrano de Bergerac) and Andie MacDowell (Footloose), and directed by internationally acclaimed Peter Weir (The Truman Show, Dead Poet’s Society), this delightful romantic comedy shows just what can happen when two perfect strangers say “I do.” Thinking they’ll never see each other again, Bronte, a demure New Yorker, and George, a newly immigrated Frenchman, agree to a marriage of convenience. Everything goes off without a hitch – until immigration officials investigate their marriage and suspect it’s a fake and these two opposites are forced to move in together for a hilarious and memorable weekend of love and laughter.
Hope Springs – A charming romantic comedy starring Colin Firth (Academy Award for Best Actor – The King’s Speech), Heather Graham (The Hangover) and Academy Award nominee Minnie Driver (Return to Me). When artist Colin Ware (Firth) discovers the love of his life and fiancee Vera (Driver), a sexy, sophisticated vixen, is marrying another man, he flees to the sleepy New England village of Hope to soothe his tortured psyche. Soon he finds more than a shoulder to cry on when he meets Mandy (Graham) a beautiful free spirit who captures his heart – until Vera suddenly shows up with the surprise of Colin’s life.
Mumford – From Academy Award-nominated writer/director Lawrence Kasdan (The Accidental Tourist, The Big Chill) comes this endearing romantic comedy. Set in the idyllic town of Mumford, the story revolves around a local psychologist, Dr. Mumford (Loren Dean – Space Cowboys). His no-nonsense approach to therapy and his uncanny insights into the human condition have made Dr. Mumford somewhat of a hero with the quirky locals, almost all of whom are in his care. While he’s the caretaker of town secrets, no one realizes Dr. Mumford has a whopper of his own. The top-notch supporting cast includes Ted Danson (Saving Private Ryan), Martin Short (The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause), Mary McDonnell (Independence Day), Jason Lee (Alvin and the Chipmunks,/i>) and Alfre Woodard (The Forgotten).

we have all of these passport photos of ourselves from all the dept. of homeland security forms we had to fill out for kevin’s green card. each application required a photo taken within the past 30 days (not to mention some exorbitant fees for each application, and they wonder why people come here illegaly). for some reason every part of the application was processed in a different part of the country by agencies who lack the technological resources to digitize applications and communicate with each other. i can just imagine someone sitting at a desk in a dank windowless room with these 50 page applications piled 4 feet high all around him. they probably have a bulletin board somewhere where they rank applicants and their spouses in order of attractiveness and/or try to match people up with more suitable mates.
